Choosing a Cat as a Pet

Breed

There are lots of different breeds of cat, from pedigree, mixed breed and non-pedigree. Non pedigree cats can be the most difficult to predict their temperament, but they are possibly the most common type of cat in Ireland.

Hair Type

Shorthair, Semi-longhair and Longhaired breeds are all popular, with longer hair breeds shedding more and requiring some grooming.
