About The Carers Association
The Carers Association is the national support charity which is dedicated to helping those who look after an ill, frail or disabled relative, partner or friend at home. Their work provides exceptional support to the 161,000 unsung heroes that are family carers, through their network of support groups, counsellors, trainers, relief staff, and in-home respite care.
Caring is not specific to one illness; it is does not have defined path, or duration. It affects families from all walks of life, and is a need created by illness or disability that can last a matter of months, or for a life time. It is something which will affect us all at some stage in our lives - we will all become carers, or be cared for.
All monies raised through registration fees and sponsorship will go directly to The Carers Association, and will be used to support their services in the local communities where each walk takes place.
