Adopt an Animal with North West SPCA

If you have been thinking of getting a dog or cat, then look to adopt an animal. Think Adoption First. Meet NWSPCA, who are partnered with our store in Westport. Find out below how you can offer a forever home to one of the dogs or cats in their care.

Who are they?

NWSCPA are a rescue based in Ballina, Mayo, and have been in operation for 22 years. They are dedicated caring for unwanted dogs, cats, small and large animals and finding their forever home. Their volunteers are spread all over Belmullet, Castlebar, Westport, Killala and South Sligo. There are a few core volunteers who do the rescues, TNR, vet runs, organise home checks, adoptions, admin, people who fundraise or help in charity shops in Castlebar & Ballina, as well as people who foster.

What Animals Do They Shelter?

NWSPCA mainly look after cats & dogs mainly but also get calls on horses, donkeys, large animals, and even wildlife. Even if the animal in need is not in their area of expertise, they always try to point people in the right direction and ensure that animal is cared for. They don’t have a shelter, but operate using a network of foster homes.
