Getting Your Dog Ready For Your Wedding Day

Including your dog in your wedding and being part of your special day is a beautiful way to recognise the importance of the four legged friend in your life.

Dogs are our most loyal companions so it’s not surprising that many dog parents dream of having them part of their wedding day. Whether that’s bearing the rings, trotting down the aisle at their side or just creating some unforgettable memories (and photos!), dogs can really make your big day even that more special.

Our dog-of-honour pamper package is for wedding dogs that need to look their best on your big day. Your dog-of-honour will be treated to a relaxing and rejuvenating bath; using our Aromatherapy Blend No.1 with Ylang Ylang for a soothing, calming pre-wedding experience. Especially created so that your four legged friend will look as fantastic and photo-ready as you do as they accompany you down the aisle.

If you’re planning on having a dog-of-honour at your wedding, you will need lots of preparation to ensure everything goes to plan. We here at Petmania Grooming Studios have put together some top beauty tips to guarantee your pooch will look his best on the big day!

8-12 Weeks Before:

Wedding preparations will start in earnest at this stage. Arrange for your dog to have a professional ‘do’ around 8-12 weeks beforehand.

Choose to add a conditioning, facial or paw treatment to really make your dog shine and sparkle. This will also make his coat will look amazing in photographs at your side.

You should ramp up the daily brushing of your dog’s coat around this stage as well. This will help prevent tangles or matting developing, which is the last thing you want before your wedding day. Always make sure the brush you choose for them is suitable for your breed of dog and his coat-if in doubt, you can always ask one of our groomers and they’d be more than happy to assist you.

Also be sure to pick out what you want your doggie to wear on the big day too. Choose one of our Luxury Handmade Ring-bearer Bows, Wedding Bowties or Wedding Flowers, all designed to make your dog look as handsome and as dapper as he can be. Make sure you pick these out in plenty of time so they will be available for the big day.

4-5 Weeks Before:

Around four to five weeks before the big day, your dog will need a wash and blow dry to help keep his coat clean and fresh. After that, they will get a conditioning treatment which will add a little extra pampering and leave their hair extra huggable and soft.

1-2 Days Before:

Book your dog’s final pre-wedding pampering and cut 1-2 days before your big day.  Adding a conditioning treatment, facial, and paw treatment at this stage will make sure he looks truly fabulous and super photogenic!

This is also a good time to have your dog’s teeth cleaned and give him a pearly white smile for your photos. Our Ultrasonic Tooth Brushing service will help eliminate any bad breath as well as reduce plaque and tartar build up. This is available via appointment at our Grooming Studio.

Morning of the Wedding:

Brush through your dog’s hair and style him with his adorable wedding accessories. Doesn’t he look paw-fect?! He’s now ready to walk you down the aisle and create some amazing memories.
