Petmania Ruby Heart Awards General Terms & Conditions

1. The promoter of this competition is Petmania (part of O’Keeffe’s of Kilkenny LTD) based at Support Offices, Unit 12, Kilkenny Retail Park, Smithlands, Kilkenny City. Petmania are deemed as ‘the promoter’.
2. Entry is open only to those that are resident in the Republic of Ireland. In the case of Pet Rescue Event; Pet Friendly Workplace and Pet Friendly Venue, the organisation and activities nominated must be based in the Republic of Ireland
3. There is no purchase necessary to enter the competition.
4. All entries must be submitted via www.petmania/ruby-heart choosing the correct categories and submitting a completed the entry form.
5. Entrants must own the copyright on all photographs submitted
6. By entering the competition, the entrant is giving the promoter permission to use the any submitted images in the promotion and running of this competition.
7. It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure that the correct form of media is submitted. Videos that are submitted will be screenshotted and this image may replace the original file
8. Submission of photographs / videos which contain explicit or sensitive content will be removed from the competition.
9. By entering the competition, the entrant commits to the provision of sincere, accurate and honest information throughout the entry process. The promoter reserves the right to disqualify, or remove from the competition, any entrant where knowingly inaccurate or false information has been provided with the explicit intention to exploit or manipulate the competition.
10. The opening date for receipt of entries is Wednesday 23rd April 2025
11. The closing date for receipt of entries is 11.59pm on Wednesday 14th May 2025
12. You may enter multiple categories, or submit more than one individual entry in the same category. However, duplicate entries will be removed.
13. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries not received, or for undelivered or delayed entries which were unable to be submitted or received due to technical failure or any other reason beyond its control. No responsibility will be accepted by Petmania for failed, partial or garbled computer transmission, for any computer, telephone, cable, network, electronic or internet hardware or software malfunctions, failures, connections, availability, for the acts or omissions of any service provider, internet, accessibility or availability or for traffic congestion or unauthorised human act.
14. The Promoter reserves the right to vary, cancel or modify the competition and or the terms and conditions at any time and for whatever reason and/or amend or withdraw the competition (and/or any related prize) in whole or in part at any time due to unforeseen circumstances. The Promoter is also entitled to vary the prize(s) if, due to unforeseen circumstance it becomes impossible to provide the prizes as described or in its opinion, it would be inappropriate in any way. In that event, a prize of equal value will be offered. In all respects, The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into in respect of this decision.
15. The Promoter takes your privacy and personal information seriously. Your personal data provided upon the time of entry be managed in line with the Promoter’s privacy policy which can be found at https://www.petmania.ie/privacy-policy
16. Contact details of voters will not be used for any future marketing purposes, unless explicated requested, and has been solely requested to avoid multiple voting etc. Any recorded voter information will be removed from our records permanently following the end of the competition, unless that voter has opted in to be added to the Promoter’s email database for the purpose of receiving marketing notifications.
17. Entry is not open to employees of Petmania or their immediate families (Parents, Siblings, Children, Spouse/Partner). Please see individual category terms below for additional exclusions.
18. While attending events relating to the competition, or representing Petmania in an official capacity with their pet, all owners must respect and follow the current laws and regulations relating to the ownership and control of dogs, with particular reference to the use of leads and muzzles, and the cleaning of dog waste, where required. Failure to do so may result in exclusion from some / all events and / or removal from the competition.
19. Any entries found to be invalid or in breach of competition rules, will be disqualified and entrants may be asked to forfeit any prizes given.
20. All Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for alternatives or cash.
21. In categories where the prize includes being appointed as an official brand ambassador for Petmania for a period of 12 months, the details of which will be outlined with the winner’s owner via a contract of agreement.
22. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
23. The competition will consist of one round of public voting, and one round of judges assessment. The three entrants who receive the most public votes in each category will be put forward to a judging panel.

Public Voting: Voting will be available as follows:

1. Online Voting: Online voting will be available via www.petmania.ie/ruby-heart .
   1. In order to register a vote online, voters must register their email address and complete a CAPTCHA.
   2. Voter details will not be stored after the competition, unless that voter has requested to be added to Petmania’s Marketing Database
   3. Online voters will be allowed to cast one vote per entry, in any 24 hours during the voting Ie: if you cast your first vote at 6pm, you will not be able to vote again until 6pm the following day.
   4. The online voting system is operated by Woobox.com. Full details of the Woobox.com’s data security can be found at https://woobox.com/privacy

Any attempts to manipulate the voting system, as perceived by the organisers to be malicious, unfair or in breach of the voting rules will lead to disqualification of the entry question from the competition, and may lead to the forfeit of any prizes or discounts obtained during the course of the competition.

2. Judging Panel: The three entrants who receive the most public votes in each category will be put forward to a judging panel. The judging panel will be made up of three persons, including a representative from Petmania, the category sponsor and one other person to be appointed. The panel of judges will be different for each category, as will the judging criteria.

Award Category	Petmania Ruby Heart Rescue Pet 2025, sponsored by Hills Pet Nutrition
Entry Requirements	Criteria: Open to dogs and cats that have been adopted within Ireland. Entrants are asked to provide a photograph of their pet and tell us a bit about their adoption story.
Additional Exclusions	Entry is not open to employees of Hills Pet Nutrition or their immediate families (Parents, Siblings, Children, Spouse/Partner).
Judging Criteria	Judges will rate entries on the photograph and story provided at the point of entry. Judges will be seeking a winner who demonstrates a positive and heartwarming story of transformation following their adoption. Judges reserve the right to also use any publicly shared information to support their selection and final decision.
Entry validation	The promoter reserves the right to seek verification the details relating to any entrant.

Entry Requirements	Criteria: Open to therapy and service pets that provide support to humans in a home or community setting, in Ireland. Entrants are asked to provide a photograph of their pet and tell us about the impact their pet has had on their lives.
Additional Exclusions	Entry is not open to employees of Purina Pet or their immediate families (Parents, Siblings, Children, Spouse/Partner).
Judging Criteria	Judges will rate entries on the photograph and story provided at the point of entry. Judges will be seeking a winner who that represents the importance of therapy pets and the emotional support, assistance, and the impact these animals have on individuals and families. Judges reserve the right to also use any publicly shared information to support their selection and final decision.

Entry Requirements	Criteria: Open to dogs and cats over 7 years old that live in Ireland and were born in 2018 or earlier
Additional Exclusions	Entry is not open to employees of Wellness Pet Care or their immediate families (Parents, Siblings, Children, Spouse/Partner).
Judging Criteria	Judges will rate entries on the photograph and story provided at the point of entry. Judges will be seeking a winner which will honour the role that older pets have in bringing joy and companionship and will highlight longevity, the importance of senior pet care, and the deep bonds shared between older pets and their families. Judges reserve the right to also use any publicly shared information to support their selection and final decision.

Judging Criteria	Judges will rate entries on the photograph and story provided at the point of entry. Judges will be seeking a winner who has shown extraordinary courage in the face of adversity which may include recovery from illness, survival stories, or acts of heroism. Entry Requirements	Criteria: Entry is open to any animal rescue centre or animal welfare organisation based in Ireland and activity must have been carried out after 1st January 2024
Additional Exclusions	Entry is not open to employees of Hills Pet Nutrition or their immediate families (Parents, Siblings, Children, Spouse/Partner).
Judging Criteria	Judges will be seeking a winner that has demonstrated a commitment to animal welfare and this award will celebrate pet-rescue moments from the past year. A representative from the x3 finalist rescue centres will be invited to take part in an online interview with our judging panel to gain additional insight into the work of the rescue centre, and the specific rescue activity which has been nominated. Judges reserve the right to also use any publicly shared information to support their selection and final decision.

Additional Exclusions	Entry is not open to employees of Agria or their immediate families (Parents, Siblings, Children, Spouse/Partner). Companies who work directly in the pet-care sector are excluded from entry to this category.
Judging Criteria	Judges will be seeking a winner that demonstrates how they have gone above and beyond to welcome pets. A representative from the x3 finalist companies, as voted by the public, will be invited to take part in an online interview with our judging panel to gain additional insight the company’s pet friendly approach. Judges reserve the right to also use any publicly shared information to support their selection and final decision.

Judging Criteria	Judges will be seeking a winner that celebrating the companies who understand the importance of pet’s as part of the family and strive to provide a pet-friendly work place. A representative from the x3 finalist companies, as voted by the public, will be invited to take part in an online interview with our judging panel to gain additional insight the company’s pet friendly approach. Judges reserve the right to also use any publicly shared information to support their selection and final decision.

Entry Requirements	Criteria: Open to dogs and cats in Ireland that have their own social media profile, sharing regular content that gives an insight into the pet’s life, and advocates for responsible pet ownership. Multiple pets who share a social media profile should be entered in a single combined entry.
Additional Exclusions	Entry is not open to employees of Kong or their immediate families (Parents, Siblings, Children, Spouse/Partner).
Judging Criteria	Judges will rate entries on the photograph and story provided at the point of entry as well as the submitted social media profiles to review the content and engagement on nominated petfluencer profiles. Judges reserve the right to also use any publicly shared information to support their selection and final decision.
