Who are they?
Offaly SPCA was formed 38 years ago by a group of concerned animal lovers who wanted to help those animals in need.
The aim of our charity is to prevent suffering, provide assistance to sick/injured and stray animals, and where possible to improve the lives of companion animals by providing subsidised special neutering schemes at various times throughout the year depending on the availability of funds.
They don’t have an animal shelter for any rescued animals; all animals in their care are with volunteer foster families where they are cared for in people’s own homes. Fosterers provide their time and loving care in a safe environment. Offaly SPCA provides for all of the fostered animals other needs such as food, litter, veterinary care, etc.
What Animals Do They Shelter?
Offaly SPCA shelter dogs and cats waiting for their forever homes. They can range from young puppies to senior dogs, and small kittens to older cats looking for human companionship.
Last year they rescued 66 dogs/puppies and 164 cats/kittens. They also TNR’d ( Trapped Neutered & Returned ) 183 feral cats to help reduce the population of feral cats & prevent the suffering of unwanted kittens.
