Dogs Raise over €43,000 for The Carers Association by Walking with Petmania

Petmania is delighted to announce that the Petmania National Dog Walk, which took place on Easter Monday, has raised over €43,000 for The Carers Association, bringing to almost €135,000 the amount raised by this event over the past three years.

Despite the rain causing some havoc on the day, 100’s of dogs and their owners took to the streets around the country in Carlow, Dublin, Galway, Kilkenny, Limerick, Navan, Portlaoise, Tullamore, Tralee, Waterford and Wexford, and have been returning their hard earned sponsorship since the event.

“A massive thank you goes out to everyone who took part in the Petmania National Dog Walk this year. For all of those that raised €50 or more, we will be issuing Walker Rewards shortly, which you can expect to receive in the post very soon”, says Emily Miller, Marketing Manager at Petmania.

In addition to those that took part in the event, a very genuine thank you must be extended to our event partners – media partner RTE Lyric FM, Royal Canin, who have donated €1 for every sale of their dog (and cat) food to the Carers Association, and Allianz Pet Insurance, whose donation of €1 for every registered participant added €10,000 to the sponsorship raised, bringing the overall total raised to €43,529.59. Both event partners, along with Petmania and Harvey’s Point Hotel in Donegal have also very generously sponsored Walker Rewards.

The Carers Association provides a FREEFONE Care Line 1-800-24-07-24, advice, training, in-home respite, support groups and advocacy for people caring for loved ones at home who are elderly and frail, seriously ill, people with disabilities and children with special needs.
