Petmania Attempt to Set Guinness World Record

Petmania Attempt to Set Guinness World Record

Jul 26, 2017

This Saturday, Petmania, Ireland’s favourite pet store, and Kilkenny native, will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record, but they are looking for dogs to help them!

Central to their 10th Birthday Party at their flagship store in Kilkenny Retail Park, Kilkenny, Petmania will be an attempt to gain a place in the history books with an official Guinness World Record Attempt – for the biggest cake for dogs in the world!

The current record stands at 68.45kg and was created to celebrate the marriage of Prince William to Kate Middleton in 2011. To break this record, Petmania have teamed up with Leader Dog Food and Premium Canine and will be presenting their record attempt the public at their official birthday party at their flagship store in Kilkenny Retail Park on Saturday 29th July.

BUT – it’s not as simple as making a great big cake! In order to achieve their certificate, Petmania need your help! Marketing Manager for Petmania, Emily Miller, has said, “part of the rules of achieving our Guinness World Record is that we need to give our cake away – so we’re calling on all the dogs in Kilkenny and beyond to come along to Kilkenny Retail Park on Saturday 29th July to get their free slice of the Biggest Cake for Dogs in the World!”.

Also at the party will be lots of fun and games with special guests The Canine College, Village Veterinary, Beat 102 103 and Leader Pet Nutritionists while there will also be Free Weight Checks, Grooming Demonstrations, a selfie mirror for all the party animals PLUS, free doggie bags for the first 150 dogs who come along on the day!
