Public Choose Finalist Puppies for Petmania Puppy of the Year
After weeks of public voting, campaigning and anticipation, the 12 finalists for the Petmania Puppy of the Year Competition have been announced. In a competition which captured the hearts and minds of the public, 1000’s of votes were cast in-store and online since 24th April to find the 12 puppies that would represent their local Petmania store at the grand final this Saturday, 28th May, at Petmania Navan.
During the final heat, the 12 puppies from around the country will tough it out in front of a panel of judged in a light-hearted dog show where they will strut their stuff in four categories: Special Talents; Personality; Coat & Appearance; Obedience.
The 12 competing puppies are:
- Goose, an Akita and his owner Wayne Brennan, representing Petmania Navan
- Gizmo, a Tibetian Spaniel and his owner Chris Judge, representing Petmania Santry
- Cookie, a Maltese Terrier and her owner Yolande Murray, representing Petmania Tullamore
- Opie, a Husky and his owner Lauds Allen, representing Petmania Portlaoise
- Joey, a Cocker Spaniel, and her owner Amy Fitzpatrick, representing Petmania Kilkenny
- Bella, a cross breed with her owner Alison Vorley, representing Petmania Carlow
- Loki, a Pug, and his owner Rhiannon Colbert, representing Petmania Waterford
- Toby with his owner Brian Carroll, representing Petmania Wexford
- Bubba, an Old English Bulldog and his owner Johnathan Sheehan, representing Petmania Limerick Jetlands, Ennis Road, Limerick City
- Pete, a Schnauzer and his owner Colm Cashin, representing Petmania Limerick Eastpoint, Ballysimon Road, Limerick City
- Junior, a Boxer, and his owner Bet O’Sullivan, representing Petmania, Tralee
- Zoma Wall, a Golden Retriever and her owner Ruth Wall representing Petmania Galway
The Grand Final kicks off this Saturday 28th May at Petmania, Navan Retail Park, Athboy Road, Navan, Co. Meath, with family entertainment from 12pm and the dog show starting at 1.30pm.
